January 2012

Here is a look back at January 2012

My little darlings all ready for church

We took a little trip up to Park City with the kids.  We always go to Pizza on Main.

We invited Meagan to come.  She brought a few friends with her.

We spent Saturday at the Olympic Park.  They had bobsledders practicing, which was absolutely amazing to watch.  I could hardly pull myself away to leave.

Halloween 2013

He we are making our annual Marriott Halloween trick-or-treating trip.  Olivia dressed up as a cupcake and Myles chose to be a knight (just for the day and missing half of the costume).

The kids love being in Matt's domain.  They are both busy at work.  Such fun new things to play with, which makes it hard to pull them away.

Halloween was a busy day as most of our days are now.  Olivia had an OT appointment at 11:00 a.m.  Immediately after her appointment we headed to Matt's work for lunch and trick-or-treating.  After Matt's work we drove over to Riverton's Primary's Hospital for Myles' endocrinology appointment.  I knew it was going to be a busy day so for dinner I bought Costco potato soup or our "witches stew" and then I made homemade bone bread sticks. I wish I had a pictures of the bread sticks because they turned out pretty darn cute. Once the kids were all filled up and dressed they were out the door.

Myles decided to be Batman for the evening.  So fun to see their excitement and play their parts.  Olivia  was as sweet as can be and Myles was a hyper Batman pulling out karate moves.

After Matt and the kids went around the neighborhood Olivia came home for the evening.  Matt and Myles caught up with Jesse, Preston, and Jocelyn and went to the neighborhood over by the church.  Olivia was quite sad when she realized the Matt and Myles were gone.  She loves being involved with everything Matt and Myles are doing.  No leaving out this little girl.  The night turned out to be a success.

Pumpkin Carving

Ever since dad started showing off his Scout collection at the Scout O Rama we've been making it a tradition to spend an afternoon at the event.  The activities are so much fun for the whole family.  We love going.  At last springs Scout O Rama Myles was able to plant pumpkin seeds in a paper cup.  Once summer came around he was so excited to put the plant in the garden.  I was a little skeptical that we would actually get pumpkins out of it.  But I was proven wrong.  We enjoyed checking on those pumpkins and finally picking them.  The kids loved carving the pumpkins.  Myles wanted everyone carved.

Olivia really got into the whole thing.

And the end result.  They loved the Mickey Mouse pumpkin the best.

Picking Peaches

One Saturday I was on the hunt for some cheap peaches to make jam.  I looked on KSL and found a place where we could go pick our own peaches in a peach orchard.  I thought that sounded like the perfect Saturday afternoon family activity.  Although this orchard was in on the mountain of Salem and the history behind this place seemed a little sketchy it did end up being a fun afternoon. After calling my dad to google map the area and guiding us (addresses in this area were very confusing) we made it to a dirt road leading us up to the orchard.

She obviously loved the peaches.  Nothing was holding her back.

Myles was not feeling so great.  He wasn't up to posing for the camera one bit.

A Gorgeous House in Provo

Small mud room.  Perfect solution for keeping coats and shoes under control.  Possibly at the entrance in our garage.

I about died when I entered this house.  I could move right on in and feel at home!  Beautiful cabinets, paint color on wall is perfect, and not too dark wood floors.

Not something that I could do in our house, but I love it!

White cabinets,  subway tile, and silver knobs.

Ahhh, I love this modern looking tile.

Love love these bookshelves.  This is exactly what I have had in mind of our family room.  I want some storage space at the bottom for blankets and such and then shelves for books and decor.

I loved the touch of color that they added to this door.  It was all gorgeous.  I wish I had taken more pictures, but Matt was in the car waiting for me.

1st Day of Preschool

Wow, what an exciting day!  Myles has been so excited to start preschool.

When Myles first found out that he was going to preschool he asked if Olivia would be going with him.  He was pretty sad at first when he found out that she would not be tagging along.  But he feels like such a big kid that he gets to go all by himself now.

Making his way up to his teachers house.

Starting off class with a game of Memory with Miss Kim and his new friend.

Myles first day of school was a success.  He loved every bit of it.  And I got to hear all about it over an after school snack.  He informed me that he got to ride a skate board.  I was a little surprised by this and asked him if he stood up on it.  Turns out he got to wear roller skates.  I'm still surprised by this.  Myles also made a picture of himself that he hung up in his classroom, read books, and had crackers and orange juice.

Matt left a Good Luck note for Myles.

Last week we went to his teachers house for an Open house to meet his teachers and take a tour of the classroom.  Seeing his teacher and all of the fun things in the class made him so excited.  When we got home he asked if he could get an apple out of the fridge.  I told him he could, but asked him why.  He said he needed to get an apple ready to take to his teacher.  A few minutes later I heard rumbling in the pantry.  I once again asked him what he was doing.  Myles said he was going to make himself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to take to preschool.  I had to give him the bad news that he wouldn't be eating lunch at his school.  I am so glad Myles is so excited and ready to start preschool.
