Week One

One week down without Matt around.

Here is a little update as to where we are at in our life.  Back in December Matt found out his work was going to move his job position back to Maryland in February.  The rewriting of his resume, creating a cover letter, and job hunting began.  I was never too worried about this whole situation.  In fact I found it to be a great opportunity to push Matt to a better position where he could be more challenged.  Matt's final day at Marriott was February 8th.  By March 8th or so we accepted a job with Marriott in San Francisco.  Matt headed out to San Francisco and started his job while we stick around here until the kids are out of preschool.  This whole single parenting is not easy.

Here are some highlights from our first week without Matt around:

-Scheduled way too many appointments before we have to move-dentist, cardiology, Shriner's, ophthalmology, hair

-Called a handful of people within the San Francisco school districts and local people to figure out schooling for the kids

-Fixed cracked windshield

-Observed Olivia's preschool

-Volunteered in Myles' preschool

-Got wedding ring examined and cleaned

-Went to a presentation to learn how to encourage Olivia to speak more in the home

-Took the kids to lunch.  Olivia was up and down in her seat.  She knocked fry sauce all over my hair and shirt

-Worked on home projects to prepare for renters

-Worked on getting renters in our house when we move

-Needed to fill out application to renew driver's license.  Went onto the wrong website and paid to some third party

-Canceled my debit card because I didn't know who this third party group was and didn't want to get scammed

-Skyped with Matt every night before the kids went to bed

-Skyped with Matt after kids were in bed and stayed up way too late

-Made stew and rolls the first Monday Matt was gone.  Kids didn't take a bite.  I decided my dinner planning needed a change.

-A neighbor invited us over for dinner one evening

-Another neighbor brought us dinner another evening

-Had dinner at Matt and Laurie's another evening

-Watched the Sorensen kids, so Matt and Laurie could go to their adult session of Stake Conference

-Played outside with the kids on the warm afternoons

-Went to Meagan's wedding shower

-Went up to my parent's for Sunday dinner

-Had a puppet show with stuffed animals.  Myles' puppet show entailed Minnie and Cookie Monster getting married.  After they got married they went and ate cookies.  Minnie and Elmo also got married.  They kissed and gave each other rings.

-Woke up early one morning due to a nightmare.  I never remember my dreams and then to wake up to a terrible dream was very out of the ordinary.

-Myles woke up on Sunday morning to snow all over the ground.  He was very disappointed and said, "When is it going to be warm so the bugs can come out?"

I felt like I had a lot of adrenal this first week.  There is so much to do before we head to San Francisco.  I hope the adrenal can last.  One week down and 11 more to go!

February 2012

Here is a look back at what we were up to in February 2012

This gal definitely loves electronics.

Myles got to be in Itty Bitty Ball at the Legacy Center.  He learned a little bit about all sports.  He had a ball!

"Go Team Batman!"

Olivia started horse riding as soon as she turned 2.  This was her first ride on the horse.  Being on a horse was a little scary for Olivia at the beginning.  But boy, after a year she loved every bit of horse riding.  Gary was the main instructor.  We love him.  He also was Olivia's instructor for her motor class.  All of her therapist are amazing people.  Horse riding helped improve Olivia's posture, communication, and confidence.  What an amazing opportunity we had to work with the horses and all the volunteers.

Jennifer and Judy came into town for a week, so we took all the kids to a park in Highland to feed the ducks and play.

January 2012

Here is a look back at January 2012

My little darlings all ready for church

We took a little trip up to Park City with the kids.  We always go to Pizza on Main.

We invited Meagan to come.  She brought a few friends with her.

We spent Saturday at the Olympic Park.  They had bobsledders practicing, which was absolutely amazing to watch.  I could hardly pull myself away to leave.
