First Ski Trip

The week Matt left for SF he took Myles on his first ski trip up to Alta.  I wish I could have joined them.  I have very fond memories of night skiing with my dad and Jenny up at Powder Mountain.  Night skiing was how I skied from elementary age through jr. high.  I remember always being so cold and having hand warmers in my coat pocket.  My dad used to sing old songs to me while we were riding up the lift.  The one I will never forget is "Wake up Sleepy Jean".  Not sure if that is even the title of the song.  I remember my very first ski trip and going down the same hill over and over the entire night.  I hope to be able to create similar memories with Myles someday.  This day was Matt and Myles' day.  And they had a blast.  Here are pictures to proof it.

Myles had a great first experience skiing.  I am sure there are more to come.  I hope Myles never forgets these great experiences and memories.

Easter Weekend

Easter weekend was full of activities.  We began the day with our annual neighborhood Easter egg hunt and breakfast.  So fun to see the amount of kids increase with each year.  This has become such a fun way to get out of hibernation after a long winter.  Always nice to get outside and socialize with friends and neighbors.  

Not sure if they actually ate breakfast or just opened their eggs and started trading candy.

After the neighborhood get-together we headed up to my parent's for the rest of the weekend.  We typically get together with the family for an Easter picnic and Easter egg hunt.  This year was no different.  The picnic and hunt took place and Grandpa Thompson's house.  It felt so good to be there with aunts, uncles, and cousins.  The day was beautiful and spent the better part outside.

Some of my favorite memories at the Thompson house is wandering through the farms surrounding their house.  We used to feed the cows and play on the huge hay stacks.  There is no longer the hay stacks, but Kevin and I took the kids to see some cows and horses back behind the house.  Check out that blue sky and beautiful mountains.  The country is so dreamy!

Myles' BFF

I loved this view of the Thompson house.  I love this house and yard.  So many wonderful memories.

The amount of space feels endless.  We used to play red rover with cousins every summer here.

It was such a great Saturday before Easter.  Having Matt here would have been icing on the cake.  Miss him.

Easter morning the kids woke up to a basket full of treats, a hat, and a train.

Here we are before church in true Sorensen fashion, eyes closed.  We missed having Matt around, but were grateful to be with family.  Sunday evening we headed to James and Lori's for an Easter dinner.  Jearldene was also there visiting.  They had prepared a traditional Easter dinner with ham and potatoes.  It was delicious.  It was a great way to end an enjoyable weekend!
